Arrived and went to collect some tickets for some of the events throughout the day. it was very busy but the sun was shining and there was a really good buzz about the place it was very well laid out.
I thought there was something for everyone and even if you had small children with you there was a theatre where they did pizza making and things with the children.
you could get everything from ice creams to specialized hand decorated cookies, coconuts filled with cocktails and all other food you could ever imagine.
My friend and i got hungry so we went over to the Soba stand Soba have a restaurant in Edinburgh apparently will need to go and see if the food is so bad there! Once we had placed our orders we both had a chicken satay burger on a bun it was cold not very tasty either and that was not just my opinion, there was a girl there demanding her money back as she had waited just over an hour for some noodles. she was really disappointed and after that they stopped selling noodles altogether and shut their stall early. http://barsoba.co.uk
However on the upside we had some fantastic superb food later aberdeen angus burgers cooked fresh to order on a barbecue yummy. followed by ice cream and everything else lol. also the alcohol was flowing rather freely!
My highlight of the day was wine tasting with Charles Metcalfe , he is on twitter @thewinesinger We had a selection of Bordeaux wines four red and two white!
We then went to see the cook off with comedian Gyles Brandreth http://www.gylesbrandreth.net/ he is a really interesting and funny man and he made a Victoria sponge cake alongside 3rd best chef in Scotland Jacqueline O’Donnell on twitter @chef_jacqueline her websites are http://www.jacquelineodonnell.co.uk/ and her restaurant http://thesisters.co.uk is in Glasgow was an absolute joy to watch and also hilariously funny! He has a show at the fringe called looking for happiness well worth a look if your out and about at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh.
